Just joined. Here's my first submission :). Recorded a few samples of "voice horror", a friend and i were going to make a short film but it never panned out. Basically the sound is a "disembodied voice" recorded on some tech that the entity damaged the quality or something. Used several filters and a vocoder. The idea was to vocalize the first parts in a way that it would be hard to understand, having the viewer listen more closely, and build the fear with the audible phrase ". . . And now there's somebody living on the other side of the wall and i think he can see usssss".

Recording #1 of my own shirt flapped, snapped, whipped, waved etc. If you pitch-shift this down (or slow it down) it can sound (imo) indistinguishable from, say, a large flag or large sail being pulled and snapped in the wind. This had recording noise removed, and silences auto-trimmed, with auto-regions from that trimming generated and saved in the file (handy for selecting a sound region easily or exporting regions as a lot of separate sounds). Recording of a day of the dead celebration at the museum of native american history in washington, d. C. (2014) features drumming, flute playing, chanting, yelling / whooping, whip crack sounds. Drenched in natural reverb (recorded from top floor of a circular performance space with a stone ceiling), with lots of low-frequency rumble. Possible use: could be processed for horror ambience.

Several sounds combined to approximate the sound of someone getting smacked with the butt of a pistol. Whip crack with a metallic clank and a wet crack as it hits bone/flesh. Simulated by layering a whip crack, a punch, a metal clatter, and a squish made from stirring pasta in.
